Description
Basic Rights Queensland provides legal advice and in certain circumstances, advocacy, in two areas of law - Social Security which includes problems with Centrelink payments, debts, eligibility criteria, access to disability support pensions and extends to Employment Services. The second area is Disability Discrimination, a narrow area where a person is being discriminated against on the basis of their disability. Due to limited resources, our services are predominantly delivered over the telephone. People make contact with the service, often through our 1800 number. First Contact volunteers are simply that – the first people our clients have contact with. It is essential that this first contact demonstrates the professionalism that our quality client focused service will provide.
